Description
BeautifulAegidius Klotz
violin original in all of its parts including the bass bar!
In a remarkably fine state of preservation for a nearly 225 year old violin. [See condition report below.]
I recently bought this violin from a music school in London. It was in their possession for nearly 150 years.
I don't have a sound recording but I can get one made and make it available to you. Currently the violin is on consignment with my luthier, James Banicki Violins, in Essex Vermont. Feel free to call him.
An authentic Aegidius Klotz violin is a wonderful thing to behold and this one is really special in my opinion!
Most, and by most, I really mean the vast majority of 19th, 20th, and 21st century violins all look the same as if they went through the same cookie cutter. Think about it. By contrast, you can see that this violin has character in abundance and follows no preset ideas of what a violin should look like!
