This is a contemporary professional violin by Antoine Nedelec.  He is the executive director of the Chicago School of Violin Making please look him up.
Red varnish on a golden ground. This violin is unusual as Mr. Nedelec usually produces highly antiqued intstruments.   Nedelec has been a gold medal recipient and juror for the prestigious violin making competition of the Violin Society of America (VSA).
