First year of production & featuring the oblong diagonal single coil pickup. The beautiful, natural finish shows off some gorgeous flame figuring in the maple. Unfortunately the pickguard is missing, but what an ultra cool guitar! Warm, rich tone with a super comfy neck that plays great up & down the fretboard. Don't miss out on a wonderful opportunity to own one of Gibson's early electric guitars!
Cosmetic Condition: The guitar is actually in pretty good shape considering it's over 80 years old! Various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches, weather checking & some mild finish wear. Overall the guitar has a great look to it with an authentic vintage vibe & beautiful patina.
Neck: Nicely rounded, flame maple neck with cream binding & tortoise side-dots. Super dark Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl double parallelogram inlays. Frets are in good shape with a little bit of wear, but plenty of life in them. Bound headstock with mother of pearl Gibson script logo & Crown inlay. Open-gear tuners in good working condition. 1 11/16" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod functions.
Body: Double-bound, fully hollow body with dual F-holes. Hand-carved, solid spruce top with trapeze tailpiece & compensated rosewood bridge. Pickguard is missing, however, a portion of the bracket is included in the case. Hand-carved, flame maple back & maple rims displaying some gorgeous flame figuring. Guitar weighs 6 lbs 6.2 oz.
Electronics: Diagonal oblong single coil with six individual adjustable pole pieces - 17.5K ohms. Master volume & tone controls with bakelite knobs. All electronics are in good working condition.
