Description
This very good sounding, old and rare French violin was made in around 1860 in Mirecourt, not labeled, but probably made by atelier or circle of Derazey in a period they worked for D.Nicholas.(LOB 35.8)
In a very good state of preservation for it's age- no cracks and issues on important areas. There are some signs of intensive everyday professional use (some scratches on varnish, see photos), it is clearly a sign of very good professional level instrument.
This violin has a great soloist sound volume & full excellent tone with outstanding resonance and articulation. It has superb projection & a fast response time. It features a very well-balanced sound between the high & low registers. This instrument would be suitable for professional soloists as well as for better orchestra/chamber musicians It is fantastic instrument, easy to hold, very responding, made for player .
