BACKGROUND AND HISTORY
Cambodia's extremely popular 7 Wonders of the Worlds Series.  Produced by the Singapore Mint under the authorization of the National Bank of Cambodia.  The 2005-2006 issues come with the standard hologram gold and silver coins that has represented this Series since 2001. Special Feature: Dynamic Hologram Effect.  Here are the themes for the upcoming coins:
CAMBODIA - TAJ MAHAL COIN:
Taj Mahal, meaning "Chosen one of the Palace" is the burial place of the beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, of the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan; she died in childbirth in 1631. Construction began in the following year, and the entire complex took more than 20,000 workers 22 years to complete.
On the obverse of each coin is the design featuring the bust of King Jayayarman VII who reigned in ancient Cambodia from 1162 to 1201. The denomination reflected on the obverse of the coins is 10,000 Riels. Each coin bears the year-date "2004" and "2005" on the obverse in a special latent design. Rare, only 2,100 made.
