The violin is exceptional, a true testament to fine workmanship ideals, and sounds better than it looks! With a gorgeous singing tone, exceptionally easy to play with no effort needed to produce beautiful melodies in every position and on all strings. Its power and projection is far fetching and soars in the orchestra or accompanying piano. With very quick response! It’s even and wonderfully balanced.
The violin has been extremely played on, as you can see, indicating that previous owners clearly thought very highly of the violin and enjoyed playing it. With all the, minor nicks and scratches from over a hundred years of being played by countless players to prove it!
golden orange-brown varnish covers the intense tiger flamed two piece maple back with matching ribs and neck. Superbly chosen strong spruce top of fine to medium grained wood. Nothing but expertly chosen seasoned tone wood were used!
Professionally constructed by a highly skilled French artisan that has bestowed it elegance and charm. From the minutely
carved edges, deep cut scroll to the well-defined corners. Attractively designed f-holes, and impeccably laid out purfling. Elegant curves with good arching makes this violin a winner!
The inside workmanship is fine too! It’s smooth, clean and polished with all four corners are fully blocked and reinforced by lining strips of wood.
The violin bears it’s original, old label inside that reads:

The violin was most exclusively imported from France or possibly Germany made circa 1910-1920 if not earlier.
The Violin bow is stamped " RWB" (Rudolph Wurlitzer Bros) twice, underneath the butt and to the side of the stick. It's also stamped "conservatory"
The Violin measures as follows:
Length of back: a perfect 359 mm
Top Bout : 6 inches 11/16,"
Bottom Bout: 8 inches 5/16"
The body, neck, scroll and pegbox of the violin are clean and healthy! NO sound post cracks or bassbar cracks. With a minor repaired saddle hairline crack on each side of the saddle and a old right f-hole wing hairline of no consequence.
All joints and seams are tightly sealed, in the back, top, sides and anywhere in between.
