    Description

Rare 1924 Frank Evans Coulter 6 String Style C Guitar. Condition is "Used".
Extremely rare guitar made circa 1924 by Portland Luthier Frank Coulter. This is the Coulter Style C Guitar. Sound hole placement is at the body top, body was made with the cross veneer technique, irregular shaped sound hole, 12 fret six string. Knights helmet on table emblem on headstock and bottom, inlaid in abalone. German silver frets, Oregon abalone shell inlay and overlay, fork shape slotted headstock. Coulter wanted his guitars to look and sound expensive. And this one does. Deep rich sound, playable as is but a great candidate for restoration. 39” long body is 19” by 15.25” by 3.75” at bottom. See the magnificent inlaid exotic wood rear neck, all inlaid and carved. The detail on the guitar is amazing. As found, it wouldn’t take too much to bring her back to her original glory. Only 28 of these models were originally ever made and only a total of two dozen Coulter guitars are known to exist today. This is a rare find. Do your research.
