    Description

Ovation 12 String Glen Campbell Edition 1118-4 Original Owner
Although the Ovation database shows this serial number to be from the 1978 time period, I recall purchasing it closer to 1975 although my memory may be incorrect. If it's terribly important I may be able to locate the actual receipt. The condition of the instrument is virtually like new as I played it very little and it sat mostly in my closet.
This is the brown back version with original case, paperwork, and strings. Yes, these are actually the original strings. The finish shows no checking, cracking or any other defect or damage. The very fine-grained spruce soundboard has a small amount of rippling only visible because the polish is so perfect. The finish near the sound hole shows virtually undetectable evidence of having been played but is nearly impossible to photograph (please see last photo). There is one area on the soundboard beneath the bridge that is somewhat lighter than the surrounding wood, it is not a surface defect but rather what I believe is a bit of glue that did not get fully sanded prior to finishing. This is the only "disclosure" I can find and probably only appeared once the surrounding wood deepened in color with age, it is very subtle and I do have a photograph of it that can be sent to you. The materials used are Spruce, Mahogany, Black Walnut, Ebony, Pear, and I believe, figured Maple, Mother of Pearl inlay and gold plated tuners.
The inside of the case is immaculate and the outside shows a few scratches but no corrosion, rust or anything of the sort on the metal parts. The plastic tape insert has lifted in two or three places but is not torn.
The neck has never been adjusted or touched but is due for a service.
I am listing this for sale locally as well and encourage a non-shipping transaction as much as possible as it will not be inexpensive and I insist on proper crating and insurance. I am listing a nominal shipping fee but the final purchaser and I will work out those details and make adjustments as needed. I have no experience shipping vintage instruments and will defer to professionals for this service.
I encourage interested parties to request additional photos as I have maxed out the number eBay allows and these are insufficient to view every detail.
Please ask any questions as I believe this is as nice an example of this guitar as can be seen and I am happy to provide whatever information you request.
