How the vent tube works
The valve action vent tube on the clam gun is truly the magic! The valve is designed to close as the gun enters the sand, then opens as the gun is removed, breaking the natural occurring vacuum making it easy on the back, and allowing diggers the opportunity to dig that may not be able to with the conventional guns. There are other guns with various types of vent tubes that are effective at making it easier to pull out of the sand.
