"Master luthier Hristo Nikolov is a graduate of the Institute of Violin Making in Cremona, Italy. He and his team from the Kremona Studio in Bulgaria have handcrafted violins using the traditional Cremona method and varnishing that are perfected to produce great sound.
There is an old story that Stradivari and Amati used to buy their woods from the majestic Bulgarian Rodopi Mountains. Part of the secret of Hristo Nikolov’s instruments lies in the acoustic characteristics of the spruce and maple woods coming from the same Bulgarian mountains.
Histro Nikolov fine approach to detail, perfect varnish and precise selection of well-seasoned tonewood are the other part of the winning formula in producing violins with great tonal depth and color."
This violin is a fully handcrafted model, a copy of Antonio Stradivari 1716. The pattern, the arching, the varnishing, and the sound the violin produces are evidence of Hristo Nikolov's excellent craftsman skill.
The instrument has good projection and is characterized by rich tonal colors and clear separation. It is light, resonant, and responsive. Features a beautifully flamed two-piece back and a spruce top with a unique "bear claw" character. Beautifully finished with golden-reddish spirit/propolis varnish.
The violin is in mint condition, play-ready. There are no cracks, repairs or any other structural defects. In perfect shape cosmetically. The strings are brand new Thomastik-Infeld Dominants.
