Description
Individually Handvoiced | Modern 00 with Florentine Cutaway, Soundport & Beveled Armrest | Solid German Spruce Top | Solid Santos Rosewood Back & SidesThe Maestro brand was founded by luthier Ho Zen Yong – known simply as “Hozen” – with the vision of offering high quality boutique acoustic instruments for the best possible value. Since then, Maestro Guitars has evolved into one of the leading makers of premium guitars and ukuleles in the world. Hozen’s lifelong commitment to making fine, hand-crafted instruments more accessible began at a young age. His family were the first piano builders in Singapore. Hungry to bring Maestro guitars to the next level, Hozen studied under renowned luthier Ervin Somogyi and underwent PLEK training with the legendary Joe Glaser, who was also instrumental in developing the team’s eye for detail.
Every Maestro exudes a commitment to making fine boutique instruments more accessible. Handmade by a small team of experienced luthiers, all Maestro instruments are built from hand-selected tone woods and individually voiced by Hozen, ensuring that each is exceptional in terms of tone and craftsmanship.
A fresh take on a hybrid style instrument, the Crossover Series marries the soft tactility of nylon strings, the comfort of our Vera shape, and the utility of our signature CSB features, giving players a new and improved experience on a classic instrument. Available in a variety of wood pairings, these guitars are individually-voiced to fuse the sweet nature of nylon string guitars and the Maestro Guitars projection and responsiveness.
SWEETNESS OF NYLON STRING, COMFORT OF STEEL STRING
Built with the steel string players in mind, the Crossover Series colligates the sweet sound of nylon string and the comfort of steel string instruments. Available in our Modern 00 shape with 48mm nut width neck, this modern interpretation of the classic nylon string instruments opens up a new palette of sounds to players.
INDIVIDUALLY HANDVOICED
Though bracing patterns affect the tonal characteristics of an acoustic guitar, there is no formulaic way of guaranteeing the best tone. Every piece of wood is different that is why we take time to individually voice every Crossover Series guitar to deliver an instrument that has a very delicate response, rich in projection, and full of character.
HANDSELECTED TONEWOODS
We source for the best tonewoods all over the world and naturally season them for years to ensure that they are responsive and have the ideal moisture content. The wood that we use for the Crossover Series are handselected based on how fast the sound travels across the board, richness of tap tones, deflection, and wood grain.
