:  This is a Repair Service for your existing malfunctioning amp plate.  You send us your malfunctioning amp plate and we repair it and send it back to you.  It is
not
the outright purchase of a new or used replacement amp plate.  You will receive back the same exact amp plate that you send us, only repaired, updated and functioning as new. Please read all of the details below.
This a flat rate repair service for the Mackie SWA1801 Amp powered subwoofer amplifier plate.

has repaired hundreds of Mackie units, and will get yours working quickly.  Simply do a "Buy It Now" and after your check out, we will respond and send you detailed removal and shipping instructions and an address to ship your malfunctioning amp plate (in
Chicago
area).  We will repair it, test it to factory specs, and notify you that it is repaired. We will ship it back to you, generally within 1-3 business days from when it is received. With shipping time included, you should have it back in about 7-10 days. Our service comes with a 90 day warranty.
You will have to remove the amplifier plate and send that to us. We also ask you to visually examine the main circuit board, as when these amps fail, burning components can sometimes cause burning on the circuit board. Small isolated burns in the circuit board can almost always be repaired, but major sizable burn-through holes on the circuit board may not be repairable.  Fortunately, such large burn areas are very rare on the model, and we almost never see a unit that cannot be repaired.  If you have any questions about this, please send us a message or photo describing the size and location of the visual burning/charring damage.
You will also need to make sure that your speaker is not shorted or partially shorted, as this might cause the amp plate to fail again. Usually, this is not a problem, but needs to be checked, and we will advise you on how to do this. We will send you a document which describes in detail how to check your speaker.
The shipping cost back to you is for continental US customers only. We will gladly service Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, and international customers, but please request a quote before buying due to the higher return shipping charges.
Our flat rate repair service includes replacing all necessary parts except the power supply filter capacitors.  Replacing all six of the power supply filter capacitors costs an additional for which we will invoice you.  Our policy on the power supply filter capacitors is the following:  If the capacitors are good and are not bulging on top, we do not recommend changing them.  If one of them is bad, we will change all of them, as the other 5 have the same "mileage", and we have seen many amps sent to us where one bad capacitor had been changed by another shop and shortly thereafter one of the remaining five failed.  For this reason, we will not change just one of the capacitors.  If the capacitors are good, but bulging on top (not completely flat), we recommend changing them, as bulging is a sign that end of life is approaching.  The disposition of the filter capacitors is an important reliability consideration for this amp because when any of the six power supply filter capacitors fail, it will most likely short and render unit non-operational.
A shorted or open power transformer will render the unit un-repairable since new power transformers are no longer available for this unit.  Fortunately, bad power transformers are very, very rare on this unit, and in the many hundreds of these units that we have serviced, we have only seen one bad power transformer.
