This violin is in need of extensive repair as you can see from the photos. The top and lower bass side rib are in need of repair for starters. Therefore, it is sold “as is” and this is a final and non-returnable sale. With that said, this is your opportunity to have the violin of your dreams, once it has been repaired by a highly qualified violin repair person. The one-piece back is absolutely gorgeous! There are beautiful rosewood pegs which are inlaid with some sort of metal which I have not tested. The scroll is elegant and an excellent example of French violin making in Mirecourt. The label and brand shows that this violin was made by Francois Delprato. I can’t quite tell what date is written on the label but it may say 1923. I have started this auction without reserve.
