Limited Run Recording King RP-06 Acoustic Parlor Guitar.Immaculate Condition!
From January of 2014 – December of 2016, Recording King produced a special line of (PW) Pre-war Parlor guitars, designed to emulate the sound and feel of the Parlors built by Gibson in the late 1930’s and early 1940’s.These RP-0’s were assembled in their factory in China, but the tone woods, neck and tops were are all sourced in America, very close to their HQ in Hayward, California. And the top and back bracings were carved by hand. These Recording King Parlors were built to the exact specs of a Gibson 1937 HG-00, the only variation being the incorporation of a slotted headstock. This production run on RP-0’s have a “no-logo” square headstock and 18/1 tuner pegs. The bridge pins have been upgraded to Tusq-black and the binding is tortoise shell. The guitar top is solid Sitka Spruce, and the back and sides are Mahogany. The fret board is made from Rosewood. The one I am selling here was built in May of 2016 and has been kept in immaculate condition. It has been played indoors only and never gigged or traveled with. This one has abalone lay-on markers at the 3, 5,7, 9 and 12 frets. And a triple purfling rosette. They are very difficult to find, especially in this condition. I have played many different high-end parlors, including Santa-Cruz, Collings and Martin; and this Recording King RP-06keeps pace with all of them. When strung with medium strings, it has an uncanny bass response and still sings brightly in the treble sonic space. It has been professionally set up by a Luthier in Houston TX with over 40 years of experience and plays very easily with no fret noise or string buzz. I am offering this here on Ebay for a buy it now of 0.00 and does not come with a case.
