    Description

    Epiphone ft-45 Cortez 1963 Gibson-Made Kalamazoo Playable but Needs Repair.
    Epiphone Cortez from the 60s. Original truss rod is maxed out, so it needs a new truss rod. I purchased to restore it but realized the nut width is too skinny for me anyway, so passing the project along to somebody with smaller hands. The nut width is the smaller 1 9/16" or roughly 40mm. Everything is original, only the truss rod cover is missing. Guitar plays fine in the Cowboy chord area but it starts fretting out around the 12th fret due to the lack of tension on the neck.
    There is a previous repair to the treble side of the soundhole area. Looks to be stable but crack is visible and slightly raised compared to the rest of the top. Neck joint is solid, no issues there. Back of the bridge has some slight separation but doesn't appear to be lifting or tilting. My luthier looked it over and the only thing that needs to be done is the truss rod replacement.
