    Description

Vintage Dixon Model 762J  Made in Japan around 1970.  Looks very solid structurally. Nice cosmetically. Some finish cracks in the finish on top. Not into the wood.  MOP trim around edging both top and bottom. Rosewood back and sides, l, nice grain pattern. Maple middle in the 3 pc back. Real nice sounding guitar. Low action 3/32 at 12th fret. Plays nice and easy. Just a very slight rise behind the bridge. A JD Bridge doctor was installed to prevent any further top rise.  This  I have read is a very collectable guitar. The research I have read is these were designed by a former Gibson guitar designer who quit Gibson, went to Japan to have his own high quality guitars made. Gibson supposedly sued him and bought all the Dixon made they could find and destroyed them. That is supposed to be the story and why they are rare.  Definitely high quality build, nice sounding and playing.  Comes with an old vintage hard shell case in good shape.  Hard to ship these with hard shell case anymore for less than a hundred bucks.
