    Description

    This Carbine Sling Buckle was recovered (or 'dug') by me near Brandy Station, Va. on private property with permission.
    I found this Carbine Sling Buckle in an area that was occupied by South Carolina troops during the spring of 1863, then occupied later (winter of 1863/64) by Union Cavalry (possibly Vermont troops). A Vermont Infantry camp was right beside the cavalry camp, almost overlapping.
