c.1850 James C. Thayer 4/4 Full Size Violin Antique Vintage Fiddle. Completed restoration of an 1850 pre Civil War era violin. Has the inscription James C. Thayer Boston 1850. It was purchased with a G.A. Pfretzschner bow that has been restrung with new horse hair in 9/2021 it has never been rosined yet. A new Conrad Gotz chinrest Model ZK-300E has been installed. It also has a brand new tailpiece and new tuning pegs. The ebony fingerboard was leveled for precise fingering. All joints were checked and reglued as necessary. It is housed in a 1930s alligator style case. Extra strings and old parts are included I've included a YouTube video link of the violin builder/repairman playing it. Restored by J & L Wetzel violin builder. This instrument is in very nice condition for its age and has great tonality I will gladly answer any questions.
