Description
Available for purchase is a Brazilian Rosewood, back & sides, sitka spruce top acoustic guitar. The back was made in the Gibson factory in Kalamazoo, Mi. The guitar was handmade by me. I built it 2014. It's modeled after the Gibson L-00 "Nick Lucas" style guitar.
The back is solid Brazilian Rosewood. It twas made in the Gibson Factory in Kalamazoo. The sides are excellent BR laminate (if you want to know why laminate sides are better, ask me). It's got a solid sitka spruce top.
It's X-braced.
The neck is a slot-head mahogany (with volute), the fingerboard is ebony (24" scale length), with mop dots.
The tuners are high quality Miller tuners from Switzerland.
It's got a bone nut, a rosewood pyramid bridge with a bone saddle, and ebony bridge pins.
It's got a Martin truss-rod (accessible through the sound-hole).
The action at the 12th fret on the low E string is .10-.11. It plays very comfortably using light (12-16-24-32-42-54) strings, which are recommended on this guitar. The finish is nitrocellulose. The headstock inlay is a 1938 Yugoslavian 1 dinar coin....no significance except I thought it looked good there. The lettering on the coin says, "Kingdom of Yugoslavia". There is what looks like a crack on the top, running parallel to the bass side of the fingerboard (pic #9). That crack occurred before the top was installed onto the guitar, so it has been sealed (you can reach in the soundhole and feel the repair, and that it is solid). This is a well built, totally solid, great looking and playing, excellent sounding guitar...nice and deep, even, resonant, and loud.
