Antique Jacobus Stainer In Absam Prope Oenipontum 1726 Violin With Bow & Case
Up for auction is an antique violin from Stainer.  This venerable instrument is in beautiful condition for it's age (possibly as old as the 18th century based on the label) it has wear from a lifetime of use but no cracks or damage that we can see.  The instrument is marked J. Y. and STAINER where the neck meets the body (picture eight) and the label inside reads 'Jacobus Stainer in Absam // prope Oenipontum 1726' (picture nine).  Along with the violin you will get an L. Bausch Leipzig bow in good condition and the hard case seen in pictures one and twelve.
This is a USED instrument that is UNTESTED. We do not have the experience to say what kind of play quality this instrument may have. We do recommend that all used instruments be fully cleaned and serviced prior to use. Change the pads (where applicable).
