This is a special note. Commonly referred to as the Atlas note (more likely to be Sisyphus in our opinion), this example is one of the very few uncut examples extant and is certainly one of the finest known. This rare and beautiful sheet is exceptional in several ways. First of all, the paper is intact and bright. Most colonial notes exhibit internal and/or margin tears due to the rigid and thin laid paper. Secondly, the ink is dark unlike most other examples for the time period. Thirdly, this note is uncirculated - which you almost never see. And lastly, it exhibits fantastic eye appeal and panache and will certainly excite the collector within us all. Most of these examples have been cut, this is one of the few remaining survivors and it’s a beauty!
