  • Condition: This is a nice vintage slide guitar with nice bindings and a nice stenciled hawaiian scene which is missing part of the scene due to use and wear. It has original tuners with one screw that has been replaced with a non original screw. The bridge has been repaired and it solid right now. It has all original parts including all 6 bridge pins. I think this was originally set up as a slide guitar so the action is fairly high. If you wanted lower action the bridge could be shaved or a neck reset I have looked over the wood used and it is my opinion that the body is Koa or Mahogany. The color of the wood is right to be Koa the grain of the wood reminds me of Mahogany it could even be Walnut but I think it is Koa. I have other instruments that are Koa and it looks a lot like those woods. The neck has shrunk over the years and some frets stick out past the neck so the binding is pushed out in several places see pics they might show that.

    Description

    1920's STROMBERG VOISINET HAWAIIAN GUITAR
This is a cool old guitar,  built in Chicago ? I would guess in the  20's.  This has a Solid Koa or Mahogany Top back and sides and a Maple neck ?  all the woods you look for in a quality guitar 90 years ago and today.  This is a beautiful instrument. Stromberg Voisinet became Kaykraft then Kay   It is in Good condition overall, it would make  and amazing display guitar or a good slide  player  or a spanish style player with work.
Has a  set of vintage tuners, likely original, but one screw has been replaced in one tuner.  Scale length 24 5/16", nut width 1 3/4" , it had a riser nut on it when I bought it.   The body has no cracks the Bridge was cracked and was glued together recently.   This comes with likely the original case.  See the top small type for any details I may have missed.
Please take a good look at the pictures they give a good look at the condition of this guitar. The guitar is playable and would be a nice addition to a collection.
