Description
1872 Antique Czechoslovakia Student 3/4 VIOLIN Solid Wood w/ Two Bows & Old Case. This old violin was made very beautifully. It looks like this is a 3/4 violin. Condition is excellent with the varnish worn out. It was heavily used. The label inside says Mathias Hornsteiner 1872 made in Czechoslovakia, but I wouldn’t depend on it, as so many violins have fake labels. This violin is really old. It looks like this is a European violin. The violin needs new strings. There are also two bows, as you can see on the photos, but they don’t have horse hair, so you need to get new ones from the store. There are a couple of empty envelopes from the strings, so I left them in, since they are very old. One of the bows is signed „A.R. Sandner,” and both bows have mother of pearl on the sides and tips of the ends. The black wood on the unsigned bow is chipped on the sides. I would keep the signed bow. Please see all photos and ask questions prior to bidding/purchasing. Thank you for looking and happy shopping.
