    Description

James Ashborn Style 2 parlor guitar built for sale by Firth Pond Company in New York.  It is serial number 2337 which I believe makes it's build date in 1853.  When I got it it had cracks in the back and one small one on top.  The back cracks were too large to pull back together, so my luthier friend took a piece of brazilian rosewood and sanded it to dust and used it with hide glue to fill and cleat the cracks.  He then refinished the back and sides and compensated the saddle to make the intonation better.  It has the original bridge and tuners.
