    This note is graded Choice About New-58 PPQ (Perfect Paper Quality) by PCGS Currency.
    This note was produced for the City of New York by Hugh Gaine (1726-1807), an Irish immigrant to the American colonies. A noted and well-connected printer, he published the New-York Mercury newspaper from his shop, the Bible and Crown, on Hanover Square in lower Manhattan.
    The reverse of the note features an interesting vignette of mechanical pumping equipment flanked by ornamental fountains.
